So today is my first day of ‘freedom’. Yesterday I finished my full-time job to become a full-time mum and writer, and/or WHATEVER THE HECK I WANT TO BE! #theskyisthelimit
It’s been long anticipated – i gave my notice 8 weeks ago. But it’s finally here. I’ve been so excited. But the last few days, anxiety got the better of me again. If I had a dollar for how many times I’ve joked “well, we might end up living in a caravan by the end of the year”… well, I wouldn’t need to write a damn book!
Actually I’m not sure I, or the rest of the family are ready for tiny living just yet, so, let the hustle begin. Day one has involved a nice long run in our local mountain bike park – probably the best place in the world, and a fair bit of cleaning since our cleaner quit a few weeks ago. But I’ve also managed to make a small step towards getting my rough book outline, well – less rough – by downloading Scrivener. Scrivener is kinda like Word… but on speed.
One small step at a time… that’s how I plan to get to the end of this book, and the end of every day actually!
Step 1. Write EVERY day. 500 words per day is non-negotiable, anything more is icing on the cake.
Step 2. Read, read, read. The more one reads, the better one will write.
Step 3. Build my tribe [A book needs readers].
Step 4. Help others. Share the love AND the knowledge!
Step 5. Repeat!
Here are a few things you can look forward to reading about in the next couple of weeks;
- Simplifying your home (and reducing toxins)
- Connection – Why connection to the BIG 4 is so important
- Why I think we should ban the term ‘work/life balance
- Single tasking
- Why I hate being called superwoman
- Self sabotaging and why we can’t stop doing it!
If you don’t want to miss these posts leave your details here to get on my VeeeeeryImportantPerson email list. I’m not a fan of spamming and you will only EVER get one email per week from me 🙂 BUT, this will make sure you see all the new stuff, hot off the press, AND be first in line for freebies!
Huge shout out to those who have already signed up!
Also, if you are enjoying reading, please take a moment to share this website with someone you know who will enjoy and benefit from it too.
If you really wanna rock my socks off (and help me build my tribe) you could even go over here and do a bit of strategic inviting. There should be a box on the right hand side of Simple Slow & Lovely’s Facebook page that shows all your friends… by all means cherry pick – it won’t be everyone’s bag!
Thanks dudes, and remember, the sky is the limit!
